New ISAIC Website to Launch!
|
The new ISAIC website has launched! We've worked hard to make it visually appealing and user-friendly. Access to our ISAIC Store for pamphlets, online reservation system for media items, and information specific to professionals are easy to access at the click of a button. We have rolled our Recovery Iowa website into our redesigned site. The web address for all ISAIC information remains the same at www.drugfreeinfo.org ISAIC also has a mobile site that you can access from your smart phone. Just go to the website from your phone and see the mobile version! As you explore the site, please provide any comments or suggestions you have to me directly at blommee@crlibrary.org

| ISAIC Gambling Information and Resources ISAIC Continues to update and add new links to information, resources, and publications relating to problem gambling. Check back often for updates. American Gaming Association: Code of Conduct
The AGA Code of Conduct for Responsible Gaming was created establish a consistent, industry-wide approach to responsible gaming across all of the AGA's member companies. The Code of Conduct is a pledge to employees, patrons and the public to promote responsible gaming in every aspect of the casino business. Mobile gamers now largest gaming segment in U.S. Mobile gamers now make up the largest single segment of the American gaming audience, according to new data issued by market research firm NPD Group.
Young people gambling more than ever before Gambling support groups say they will target young people as part of a campaign to raise awareness about problem gambling. Support groups say more young people are gambling than ever before -- nearly 80% of people aged 10-24 have participated in some form of gambling and young people with gambling issues is on the rise.

More States Institute "Social Host" Laws to Cut Down on Underage Drinking A growing number of states are instituting "social host" laws, which are designed to cut down on underage drinking, The Wall Street Journal reports. The laws impose criminal or civil penalties on hosts who permit underage drinking on their property.
Commentary: Marijuana Legalization Takes Center Stage This Election Season With Election Day just around the corner, voters in multiple locations will again be confronted with cannabis-related questions.
NPR: The Secrets In A Cigarette - Listen Robert Proctor, expert on the tobacco industry, and his new book, "Golden Holocaust: Origins of the Cigarette Catastrophe and the Case for Abolition," is a 737-page indictment of the tobacco industry, loaded with secrets about smoke and smoking you may have never known.
