| The Effect of Recessions on Gambling Expenditures This article examines the influence of the business cycle on expenditures of three major types of legalized gambling activities: Casino gambling, lottery, and parimutuel wagering.
Why do gamblers keep going back for more? ow much do you know about how you make decisions? Do you meticulously research every move before you make it, or do you trust in your "sixth sense" for the right call?
Northumbria University's Kenny Coventry has spent years looking at what compels us to make choices from childhood to adulthood, and what factors may play a part. While he's particularly interested in how this applies to gambling, it's definitely something that strikes a chord in business. Mobile sports gamblers bet more and more often, report says In 2011, the average gambler using a mobile device to bet on sports wagered 30 percent more and 29 percent more often than gamblers using desktop and laptop computers, according to a just-released Sports Agent Blog report. Apes 'gamble like humans by calculating odds' Apes are capable of gambling in a similar way to humans, a study claims. Research indicates that the animals are also able to calculate the odds before taking risks.
