State Legislation
The deadline to pass substantive bills out of Committee was March 9. Some bills were provided an extension date of March 30 and have been indicated in the update below. Both the House and Senate are scheduled to return on Wednesday, March 21 and are scheduled to remain in Session, except for weekends until March 30. March 30 is the deadline to pass bills out of 3rd Reading.
I will return to Springfield next week to follow bills more closely and to get some background information on relevant bills.
Below is a listing of major bills separated by topic as it relates to: Finance and Tax, Rail, Vehicle Code Changes, Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois Tollway Authority, Mass Transit/RTA Region, Roads/Highways, and Airports. A second legislative update will be sent out today as it relates to legislation for: Environment/Energy, Water/Wastewater, Public Transportation, and Economic Development. Also, bills which have not made it out of Committee are listed since they may wind up as a hostile or friendly amendment at a future date.
These are updates on the bill at this time. An analysis will be distributed next week once I'm able to meet with sponsors and/or lobbyists regarding the legislation. Links have been provided and are highlighted in green.
