Catskill Harvest Presents - A Wrap Up
This year's "Catskill Harvest Presents..." summer event series concluded with The Slow Food Fair, an exciting kick off to the Fall Harvest Season. After a nice warm November with more sun than clouds we are getting ready for winter here at the market. As always, we continue to source as many products from local farmers, producers and artisans as we can find. If you know of any others that we should be carrying, please let us know.
DECEMBER SHOPPING EVENTS - HELPING US HELP OTHERS
As you know, our three guiding principles are Good Food, Great Gardens and Neighbors First. At this time of year, we believe that Neighbors First must be the priority. In the past, we have teamed with Liberty's CACHE in providing assistance to our neighbors in need. We are once again teaming with CACHE to make this an enjoyable time for all. We would like to ask you, our loyal customers, to help us help others; and here is what we are looking to do: First, we have established a collection box in the store for any food donations that you would like to make ( non-perishable only please).
Second, we will be extending our store hours on Saturdays December 10 & 17 until 7pm, on these evenings we will be serving complimentary wine and an assortment of cheeses and breads. CACHE will receive 5% of all sales made during these events. We hope you will help us help others so that everyone can enjoy Good Food this Holiday Season - please plan on stopping by one of these nights, enjoy a glass of wine and the camaraderie of your neighbors. LIBERTY MAIN STREET REVITALIZATION Catskill Harvest Home has been involved in revitalizing the Village of Liberty's Main Street. Once thriving with department stores, antique shops and vibrant restaurants with throngs milling around late into the night - much like a Norman Rockwell scene in the village that has been known as the gateway to the Catskills - Liberty's Main Street is making a comeback and we are pleased to be leading the way. Our first project has been installing new facades on 9 and 13 South Main Street. | Aged storefront - 9 &13 S Main St. Liberty - in need of restoration. |
This landmark building - near the intersection with Chestnut Street has over the years become an eyesore with facades that didn't do the building proud. Over the last couple of months we have rejuvenated the building - removing the years - by dismantling the faux façade and restoring the working spaces behind with hopes of attracting new retail tenants. To clear up what has been confusion for many a passersby, this new store will NOT be another Catskill Harvest Market. | | Work in Progress |
This has been a project that our Catskill Harvest Home team has done, and they are quite proud of their work - we hope you are too. Watch for even more store makeovers in the not too distant future including the Charlie's Pizza building, the Liberty Museum, and we hope several more. And, remember, our Market is where it has been forever, and will be forevermore! - Happy Holidays Liberty!!
