ADVOCACY AS A SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINE                                      Lent  2012
 Greetings!

"Give us this day our daily bread"

What is meant by daily bread?

--Answer. Everything that belongs to the support and wants of the body, such as meat, drink, clothing, shoes, house, homestead, field, cattle, money, goods, a pious spouse, pious children, pious servants, pious and faithful magistrates, good government, good weather, peace, health, discipline, honor, good friends, faithful neighbors, and the like.

- Martin Luther, The Small Catechism

Advocacy as a spiritual discipline proceeds from God's command to love and serve our neighbor. Luther interpreted

this command to include care for "everything that belongs to the support and wants of the body, such as meat, drink,

clothing, shoes, house, homestead...".

Advocacy is love gone public - love seeking change.
Make your love public by joining LAMPa in advocacy

to preserve house and homestead for our neighbor through restoration of the Homeowner's Emergency Mortgage
Assistance Program and funding for the State Housing Trust Fund. A new settlement is bringing $68 Million
to Pennsylvania for housing - make sure it goes where it is needed most.
