Day of Prayer for Hunger Free Communities
Friday, April 8 has been declared a day of prayer in Philadelphia. The Religious Leaders Council and City Soup have called on "all congregations and individuals of all faith traditions to commit themselves to prayer and reflection on this day for the nearly 500,000 Philadelphians who are now struggling with whether they can afford to eat and feed their families". A prayer breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. Joel Berg, author of All You Can Eat: How Hungry Is America? will keynote and frame the issues.
