The new domain name will be  lutheranadvocacypa.org.   Bookmark it as your go-to source for the latest in advocacy opportunities, background on the issues and faith-based justice ministry resources. New features include a blog, Twitter feed, resources for congregations and synod teams and more. Look for an announcement the first week of February.

Live in the Southeastern part of the state (or looking for a new model in your area)?  Check out www.hungercoalition.org/citysoup to register for a six week journey (available for use throughout the year) exploring hunger in the Bible and the Philadelphia area, as well as new and creative resources for ending hunger through action and advocacy. City Soup is a LAMPa partner organization.

Lutheran Hunger Summit - May 17 PA Capitol

 

This year's event will focus on hunger in Pennsylvania and feature keynote speaker David Beckman, President of Bread for the World. Workshops will explore hunger-related themes including congregational best practices for addressing hunger, root causes of hunger in PA, hunger and the state budget, and more. Registration will open March 1.
 

Effort to Save Adult Basic Continues
 
LAMPa Advocates Are Contacting Legislators NOWhealth question mark

The adultBasic program currently provides benefits to more than 40,000 low-income, working Pennsylvanians.   These individuals will lose their insurance and access to quality health care at the end of February if a new funding source is not implemented. The LAMPa Director moderated a press conference in the Capitol Rotunda on January 24 in support of continuing the program. View clips of legislators commenting on the issue.
