Message From Your Partners in Education (PIE)

We are so thrilled with the strong levels of parent and student involvement these past six weeks of school!

As of August, over 60 NEW parent volunteers have completed the Amana Academy Volunteer Orientation and are actively volunteering in the school.  Many other returning parents have already jumped head first into many of our standing PIE committees such as the International Festival, Family Fun Nights, Crew Parenting and many, many others.  It is always great to see the dedication of our Amana parents and we thank everyone for their efforts and commitment to our school.  Together we make the difference!

Below in our "job bank" you will see a number of immediate opportunities to serve the school and fulfill your volunteer hours.

Be sure to join us on the second Tuesday of every month from 2:00-3:00PM for the PIE General Assembly meetings.  We look forward to seeing you!

Box Tops 4 Education Logo Indirect Fundraising Opportunities

This year, Amana is participating in a number of indirect fundraising programs.  Indirect fundraising does not involve selling or marketing of specific products.  It allows our school a chance to earn money by participating in rebate/cash back programs offered by many local and national companies/retailers.  Some of the most popular programs are TrueBlue Schools by Georgia Natural Gas, Box Tops for Education by General Mills, Publix Partners in Education and the Target Take Charge of Education program.  Please support our school by participating in as many programs as possible.

Volunteer of the Month Nomination Form Volunteer of the Month Logo
Do you know a special volunteer that you would nominate as the next Volunteer of the Month?  If so, please submit their name via the online VOM Nomination Form.  Once a month, our PIE Volunteer Support Coordinator will process the nominations and select the best and most deserving candidate for recognition at the monthly PIE General Assembly Meeting.

By nominating a fellow parent for the Volunteer of Month award, they will receive a certificate of appreciation and a gift that demonstrates Amana's thanks for doing such a great job!  Along with these gifts, the VOM's name will be displayed on the Amana website and on the Amana News TV broadcast.

You can nominate any person that is not serving as a PIE Executive Board member or PIE Chairperson. This can be anyone you feel has really made a difference in the school by acts of kindness and/or volunteer support that goes above and beyond the norm.

Please take the time to speak up on behalf of our Amana volunteers and nominate someone you know that has made such a difference in the lives of so many!
