Federal Contractor Flyer

This summer the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Service (USCIS) prepared a new flyer summarizing when Federal Contractors are required to register for and use E-Verify.  This flyer has been posted on the USCIS web site and outlines the circumstanced under which the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subjects an employer to the E-Verify requirement.

Keep in mind that in addition to the criteria listed, the FAR E-Verify clause must be included in the Federal contract in question.
E-Verify Validates Driver's Licenses

The August 2011 issue of the USCIS "E-Verify Connection" newsletter announced that E-Verify launched Records and Information for Department of Motor Vehicles (RIDE) in June.

RIDE has added driver's license verification to E-Verify. Mississippi is the first state to partner with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with respect to the RIDE program and, to date, more than 25,000 driver's licenses have been validated.

Clearly, this is the beginning of a roll-out that will eventually encompass all 50 states.
