About Us |
Nashville Singers, Inc. is a 501(C)3 non-profit corporation and performing arts organization founded in 2008.
The members range in age from teenagers to retirees and reside in Brentwood, Hermitage, LaVergne, Lebanon, Nashville, Joelton, and Smyrna.
The group meets at Whitworth Memorial Baptist Church the first three Thursday evenings of each month from 7-10pm. Membership in Nashville Singers is open to all men who demonstrate the ability, desire, and a commitment to excellence in vocal and choral performance.

 This Wednesday, the Texas-based quartet, Sweet Barbershop, aka Mixed Feelings, will be traveling to Dortmund, Germany, to represent the USA in the first ever BinG! World Mixed Barbershop Quartet Competition!

Grace will be back with Nashville Singers on March 24 as a clinician at Acappella Academy, and again on April 14 for our extra rehearsal/PVI session, where she will provide every member of the chorus with 30-minutes of private vocal instruction.

Ric Domenico Anthem Published with LifeWay
Nashville Singers charter member Ric Domenico's musical impact extends well beyond our organization. He wrote a song that was recently published by LifeWay. The anthem was written to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Dr. Michael Glenn being the pastor of Brentwoo d Baptist Church. Congratulations Ric!

24 Men, Women, & Students Already Registered!  Nashville Singers is offering free singing lessons to aspiring singers everywhere. Whether you're in high school or a senior citizen, this program is open to men and women of all ages.
WHEN: The program will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 beginning at 9:00am through 4:00pm, including a one hour lunch break and two 15-minute restroom breaks. WHERE: Whitworth Memorial Baptist Church, 3014 Elm Hill Pike, Nashville, TN 37214 THE BEST PART: You're invited to join Nashville Singers that night at 7:00pm when we present a free mini-concert for your friends and family. You'll be able to join us on stage to sing the songs we've learned together. The instruction is provided free of charge. Lesson space is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. You may register alone or with a friend who likes to sing.

Advisory Board Dinner Meeting March 1st
The governing and advisory boards of Nashville Singers will be meeting at Nero's Grill (Green Hills area of Nashville) on March 1, 2012 at 7:00 P.M.

No Rehearsals on March 1st
Because of the advisory board dinner meeting, there will be no rehearsal on March 1st. This gap in the rehearsal schedule should create plenty of time for personal music preparation.

REMINDER: Vanderbilt Performance on March 2nd!
Nashville Singers will again be bringing their music to the patients at the Vanderbilt ALS Clinic at lunchtime on Friday, March 2, 2012. The clinic is located at 1301 Medical Center Drive in Nashville. The zip code is 37232. The chorus will be presenting a 30-minute performance starting at 12:15pm.

Music Education Grants
What's new this year? - Increased access to funding - Last year, this grant funding was limited to Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) in Davidson County. In 2012, funding will be available to any school or independent music program in Middle Tennessee.
- Increased funding - Last year we were able to fund one $500 grant. Due to our success in 2011, in 2012 we will be offering two $500 grants.

Music Memorization is Mission Critical
When we re-convene again on March 8th, How High the Moon, Bad Day, Blew By You, and Beyond the Sea should be memorized and ready for polishing.
Here is the memorization timetable for the rest of the 2012 songs:
- Bring Him Home (March 15)
- Birthday of a King (April 5)
- We Wish You a Merry Christmas (April 12)
- Sleigh Ride (April 19)
- Let It Snow (April 21) (Saturday PVI and extra rehearsal)
NOTE: If it become apparent that one of our members does not know their music by these dates, the singer in question will be asked to step down from the risers for that segment of the rehearsal.

March 2 - (NEW) Performance at Vanderbilt ALS Clinic. Chorus call is 11:45am. Our performance concludes at 12:45pm. We will be wearing the casual uniform with the black blazer.
March 8 - Next rehearsal
March 17 - (TENTATIVE) Performance at the ICCA South Semifinal event on March 17 at Vanderbilt University. Event starts at 7:00pm. We would sing at approximately 9:30pm. Chorus call would be 9:00pm. We would be wearing the casual uniform with the black blazer.
March 20 - Concert at Belmont University with Session (7:30pm)
