Season of Harmony Concert Draws Rave Reviews and Record Crowd
 | |
Grace Thomson sharing some words of wisdom with The MET Singers and the men of the Nashville Singers at the Friday night technical rehearsal.
|
As less than 40 hours have passed since the last chords were sung, our full report on the annual concert is not yet complete. We can tell you that this year's event drew nearly 400 attendees, from 37 cities in seven states, including Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, and Georgia.
The crowd that convened at First Baptist Church of Donelson was treated to a variety of different styles of music, presented by Nashville Singers, Lunch Break, Erica Lane, The MET Singers, and the John Overton High School Chamber Choir. Fox 17's Stacy Case was our host for the evening and kept the event right on schedule. A total of 75 performers contributed their talent to making this year's concert a musical success.
When asked what they liked most about the concert, the most common repeated answers in the audience survey included
"All of It"
"Everything"
"The variety"
"Great pacing"
"Professional production"
A few messages have been received....
Congratulations to all of you on a brilliant concert Saturday evening. Thank you for including our students and making education a focus of The Nashville Singers. You are greatly appreciated. - Carol R. Crittenden, Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator - Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools
Excellent concert! I got chills many times. I don't know who left the gift basket, but thank you. And the roses were beautiful! What an honor to share the stage with you guys. Thanks so much. - Erica Lane
We really enjoyed the Nashville Singers concert last night. I can see why Lunch Break won the Audience Favorite Award; they were so much fun--and talented, too. And a good choice for Master of Ceremonies. We look forward to your 2012 concert. Thanks for a great event. - Annette and Bob Langsdon
Just a short note to tell you how much we enjoyed the concert last night. It was great. I know that it took a lot of hard work to get it all together and we appreciate all your efforts to make it an enjoyable and entertaining evening. Please let all the singers know how much we enjoyed the entire concert. - Nick Holt GREAT show guys! MET & Lunch Break rock. - Dennis Brannon (Atlanta Vocal Project)
The concert tonight was simply outstanding! I enjoyed it from all aspects, a musician, a director, singer and audience participant. I will most definitely be at the rehearsal on December 1st! - Bill Repsel
Great show last night! We're already making plans with friends for next year! It was a fantastic evening! - Joe Loesch

With help from a 23% increase in ticket sales, and a 416% increase in advertising income over the previous year, combined with new income from the silent auction, and a few donations, the year's biggest fundraiser for Nashville Singers exceeded expectations in practically every respect. Photos will be shared as they become available. If you attended our Season of Harmony concert, but did not participate in our attendee survey, we want to hear from you. Please send any feedback you may have to info@nashvillesingers.org.
