Nashville Singers Artistic Staffers Serve as Guest Artists for Choral Arts Link "Singing in the City" Event

Nashville Singers and Choral Arts Link have collaborated on multiple music education projects this year.
Choral Arts Link works to preserve a tradition and discipline of choral development by providing children opportunities to grow artistically and professionally through leadership skill development that enhances their education. M. Campbelle-Holman serves as Executive Director of Choral Arts Link, Inc., and Artistic Director of The MET Singers
The 2011 Singing in the City event was held on Saturday, November 5th and was attended by several members of The MET Singers. Nashville Singers artistic staffers Todd Wilson and Grace Thomson were this year's guest artists. Singing in the City affords singers, students and teachers the opportunity to work directly with professional choral artists in a collaborative learning atmosphere. The goal is to challenge young singers to learn, read, sing and perform with the energy encompassed by Toy Story's phrase, To Infinity and Beyond, taking singers beyond the notes, pitch, rhythm, melody and harmonies; to excel in musicianship so they move themselves to a new level of artistry.
Singing in the City 2011 was held in the recital hall of Tennessee State University's Performing Arts Center.
The MET Singers will be performing with Nashville Singers on the Season of Harmony concert, scheduled for November 19th at 7pm.

Nashville Singers Welcomes Back Doug Morrison This Week!
Two months ago, Nashville Singers baritone section leader, and charter member Doug Morrison was deployed to Arizona for a temporary assignment with his job as an officer for the Department of Homeland Security. We are proud and grateful for his service to our nation, and look forward to having him onstage with us for our Season of Harmony concert on November 19.

This Day in Music History
November 7, 1967 - Reg Dwight (Elton John) and his song writing partner Bernie Taupin signed to DJM publishing, their signatures had to be witnessed by their parents because they were both under 21 years of age. Taupin answered an advertisement for a lyric writer placed in the New Musical Express, the pair have since collaborated on over 30 albums.
