Nashville Singers Lend Their Voices to Help Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee
Through a collaboration with one of our outgoing advisory board members, Lis Couser, Nashville Singers presented a 40-minute performance at the Franklin Wine Festival on October 21st. Proceeds from the event benefited Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee. WSMV's Jonathan Martin served as Master of Ceremonies.
WSMV's news coverage about the event included mentions and music from Nashville Singers. |
More Interview Time with Bruce Cokeroft What adventure most changed your life? I truly view my entire LIFE as an adventure that God has given me. It is the events along the way (such as discovering the gift of faith as a young man, watching my children being born, learning to truly give and receive love, and building relationships with others - THOSE are the things that change your life for the better and forever!
What skill should every good performer/singer possess? The ability sing in tune, choose songs appropriate for their skill level and abilities and to passionately convey the message of a song through their giftings (okay, that's three - sorry!)
What is the best advice you have ever received? To never take myself too seriously - it's not supposed to be about me all the time! Still trying to get a handle on THIS one!
What is the best way to motivate other men? Share the stories your life-journey with them, and help them find and share their passions and giftings with others who need them!
What should every man experience before he dies? Three things: 1.) The grace, mercy, love and redemption of God through Jesus 2.) The true and unconditional love of a woman (Thank you, Kellye, my darling!) 3.) The music, fellowship and brotherhood of singing and doing life with other men who care about one another.
What skill would you like to master? The obscure, yet thrilling sport of Olympic "Curling" - To flail-away on the ice with a broom and a granite teapot would be sublime!
What advice would you give the younger you? Don't take yourself too seriously, be kind to your body and stay healthy, trust God and people more, love better, get a more functional secondary education, and realize sooner that your occupation is merely what you DO, not who you ARE! |
