Nashville Singers, Inc. is a 501(C)3 non-profit corporation and performing arts organization founded in 2008.
The members range in age from teenagers to retirees and reside in Brentwood, Hermitage, LaVergne, Lebanon, Nashville, Joelton, and Smyrna.
The group meets at Whitworth Memorial Baptist Church the first three Thursday evenings of each month from 7-10pm.
Membership in Nashville Singers is open to all men who demonstrate the ability, desire, and a commitment to excellence in vocal and choral performance.

Musical Terms of the Week
- Carol - A song or hymn celebrating Christmas.
- Castrato - Male singers who were castrated to preserve their alto and soprano vocal range.
- Cavatina - A short and simple melody performed by a soloist that is part of a larger piece.
- Chamber music - Written for 2 to 10 solo parts featuring one instrument to a part. Each part bears the same importance.
- Chant - Singing in unison, texts in a free rhythm. Similar to the rhythm of speech.
- Choir - Group of singers in a chorus.
- Chorale - A hymn sung by the choir and congregation often in unison.
- Coda - Closing section of a movement.
- Conductor - One who directs a group of performers. The conductor indicates the tempo, phrasing, dynamics, and style by gestures and facial expressions.
- Contralto - Lowest female singing voice.

Nashville Singers Silent Auction

The very first Nashville Singers Silent Auction is taking place on the evening of our Season of Harmony concert starting at 6:00pm in the fellowship hall of the Donelson First Baptist Church. Bidding will be permitted through the end of the intermission of our Season of Harmony concert event.
Winning bids will be announced at the cast party scheduled to start at approximately 9:30pm.
All money raised will help support many of our critical programs, including youth and adult music education programs, next year's annual concert, and recording projects.
Donating an Item to the Silent Auction Donating to the Silent Auction is easy - simply complete and submit the online donation reservation form so we have the necessary information about your item and the donor to be recognized, and your spot will be reserved in the auction. To have your donation acknowledged in the Season of Harmony 2011 concert program please complete and submit this form by October 15, 2011. |
