People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within. - Elizabeth Kubler Ross |

Today in Music History

Singer/songwriter Taylor Swift was born 21 years ago today. She began her musical career as a teenager and now lives in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Taylor began performing locally and writing her own material around the age of 10. She sang in karaoke contests, at festivals and fairs. When she was 11, Swift handed copies of her demo tape to all of the receptionists on Music Row in Nashville. After performing at Nashville's Bluebird Café, she caught the eye of Scott Borchetta. Borchetta promptly signed Taylor to his label, Big Machine Records.
