The philanthropic mission of Nashville Singers is to provide resources and support for music education in our schools and the community.
Leadership Mission The leadership mission of Nashville Singers is to seek, develop, use and enhance the skills and talents of each member to such an extent that progress seems limitless. Vision The vision of Nashville Singers is to be a dynamic choral leader, enriching lives through the performance of significant music.

About Us
|
Nashville Singers, Inc. is a non-profit corporation and performing arts organization founded in 2008.
The members range in age from teenagers to retirees and reside in Brentwood, Hermitage, LaVergne, Lebanon, Nashville, Joelton, and Smyrna.
The group meets at Whitworth Memorial Baptist Church the first three Thursday evenings of each month from 7-10pm.
Membership in Nashville Singers is open to all men who demonstrate the ability, desire, and a commitment to excellence in vocal and choral performance.

Inaugural Concert Series Was a Smashing Success!

Elements of this success:
Attendees
- The Saturday night event sold out nine days in advance. The matinee was just 23 seats shy of a sell-out. Overall, 278 people attended over two concerts (94% of total capacity)
- The event attracted attention and attendees from across North America. We had ticket buyers from 37 cities in eight states, including Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, North Carolina, Minnesota, Alaska, California, and New York.
The Cast
- After months of preparation on 21 songs, Nashville Singers peaked on stage and performed at the top of their game.
- We had talented guest acts. Thank you to Steve Williams, Grace Thomson, Taylor Wilson and Brandon McCaddin, Amore 4, The Yule Log Ash Tones, and the Great Gettin Up Morning Quartet.
- We had a great set of Master of Ceremonies. Thank you to Craig Adams from Lifeway and Stacy Case from Fox 17 News.
- Every member contributed to behind the scenes preparation.
Our Volunteers
- We had tremendous support from volunteers. Kudos to several of our ladies, especially Kim Gentry, Kellye Cokeroft, and Tracey Luke. We were blessed to have a shuttle van and driver donated by Walter Hill First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro. Thank you Pastor Shelby Smith. We had fabulous and courteous ushers from the local Men of Harmony Chorus.

The Music
- The concerts presented a great variety of music and musical styles that appealed to all age groups.
Venue
- We had a great venue with fabulous acoustics.
Pacing
- The event ran right on schedule. The matinee was within 60 seconds of completing at the scheduled time. The evening show finished within five minutes of scheduled time.
Merchandise
- Our new CD was released the day of the concerts.
The Cast Party
- The cast party was a great way for the performers to decompress and the attendees to share their kind words with the performers. Attendance at the cast party exceeded budget. The food, beverages, and floorplan were well-received. Thank you Kim Gentry.
Sartorial Splendor
- We were sporting our new costumes on the first half.

Stratford High School Event Postponed
With a couple of date changes in the last few weeks, the concert at Stratford High School has been postponed until after the new year. Stay tuned for more information when it becomes available.

The Journey Begins

Upcoming Events
WINTER
December 2 (Thu) OFFICIAL NOTICE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING - In addition to an abbreviated regular rehearsal, we will receive a preliminary financial recap of the November 20 concerts from the Treasurer Paul Gentry and a formal end of the year "state of the union" message from President Bruce Cokeroft. A slate of officers nominated to serve on the 2011 Nashville Singers, Inc. board of directors will be presented for election by the general membership. Nominations from the floor are permitted but no nominations should be made without prior consultation and approval from the nominee. In addition, the membership will be asked to consider some modifications to our governance and management structure to better position the organization for success in the coming years. If approved, these modifications would require an amendment of our bylaws, requiring a vote of the general membership. The rationale behind these proposed modifications was presented at the November 11 meeting.
December 9 (Thu) Regular rehearsal focused on prepations for the December 10 performance;
December 10 (Fri) NEW perrformance at Lebanon Road Church of Christ, located at the intersection of Lebanon Road, near McGavock Pike. We will be presenting two 30 minute sets of entertainment. The chorus call is 6:15pm. We will be dismissed at 8:00pm. We will wear our new formal costumes: black blazers, string pants, white buttoned down shirt, chorus issue red tie, black shoes, black belt and socks;
December 16 (Thu) Regular rehearsal focused on preparation for the December 19th and 21st performances, including singing through the nine songs that we will perform as part of the community chorus backing up Erica Lane; 90 minutes of the meeting will be dedicated to this music. Sloan Yarborough will be at the helm for this segment of the rehearsal and will need your undivided attention. Starting November 21 you are advised to begin working on this music in earnest.
December 17 (Fri) rehearsal for Erica Lane concert from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at at Wallace Chapel (at Christ Church) in Nashville on Old Hickory Boulevard; plan on wearing our informal chorus uniform at this rehearsal;
December 19 (Sun) Holiday performance at Rutland Place in Mount Juliet. Chorus call at 6:00pm, sing at 6:30pm, dismissed at 7:15pm; new formal cosutme as outlined above;

SPRING

April 23 (Sat) First Annual Nashville Singers Golf-A-Palooza golf tournament. Stay tuned to future issues of Nashville Singers News for more details as they become available. This tournament will be open to members and non-members alike and will be a great opportunity to have fun, make some new friends ands raise money to support our philanthropic mission. - Please work on the nine songs that we will be performing with the community chorus that is backing up Erica Lane on December 21st.
- Ask Santa for a new (inexpensive) audio or video recorder for Christmas. Valuable tools like this will expedite the learning and retention process.
