FAQ: For 2011, Will There Be An Express Solutions Incentive Bonus Like Last Year?

At this time, SCE has no plans for a 2011 Express Solutions bonus. However, SCE's current incentive bonus offering is the Customized Solutions and Demand Response Integrated Bonus (iBonus) for dimming ballasts. Find iBonus details in the May Edition.

Express Solutions and Customized Solutions Tip: Check Approved List At Time Of Application Submittal

Be sure to check if your customer's equipment is listed on the specified approved list as stated in the Solutions Directory. If the equipment is not specified on the approved list on or before your application is submitted, it will not be eligible for incentive.

It is important to note, some solutions have multiple approved lists. For example, Customized Solutions offering for LED fixtures and lamps.

Application Processing Systems Update

In June 2011, SCE's Energy Efficiency Business Portfolio transitioned to a new application processing system-Customer Relationship Management-to better serve our customers. Below are recent updates.

As of August 29, SCE is:

  • Validating and verifying projects migrating to the new system
  • Issuing updated project ID#s to customers (applicable only to pending Express Solutions and Customized Solutions projects as of June 7)

Systems transition may delay standard project cycle times as follows:*

  • Data entry and processing by 1 week
  • Pre- or post-inspections by 1-2 weeks
  • Incentive payment by 1-2 weeks

*Standard project cycle time targets are 35 business days for Express Solutions projects not requiring inspection, 55 business days for Express Solutions projects requiring inspections, 35 business days for all Customized Solutions Project Application, and 35 days business for Customized Solutions Installation Report.

As a reminder, if you have a project inquiry, call the Energy Efficiency Call Center Operation (EECCO) at (800) 736-4777, or send an email to IDSMQuestions@sce.com. For realtime updates, visit at www.sceonlineapp.com.

Again, thank you for your patience as we go through this transition. We are committed to working diligently with our Authorized Agents and customers to ensure minimal impact on application processing.

What's The Difference Between Authorized Participant and Authorized Agent?

There is a subtle, yet important difference between these terms. To simplify, an entity leveraging SCE Energy Management Solutions programs is considered an Authorized Participant. The moment an SCE customer authorizes the entity to submit an incentives application on his/her behalf (section 1B of the application), the entity is then considered an Authorized Agent.

For example, an entity is considered an Authorized Agent to SCE Customer ABC when he/she designates it as such through a submitted application. For SCE Customer XYZ, this same entity is considered an Authorized Participant right up to the moment the customer designates it as such through a submitted application.

To meet our corporate legal requirements on this matter, we'll be transitioning to the proper and consistent use of these terms.

As a reminder, effective September 1, 2011, an Authorized Participants Agreement Form must be submitted with each incentives application. Click here to download the form. For information on the Authorized Participants Agreement Form, see details in the September 1 Special Edition.
