|
These bulletin announcements are for your information about resources, items of interest, prayer and praise requests and information. Use your discretion and print only what will be valuable to your congregation. This information will be sent to you only once. Use your judgment as to how often you run the same information in your bulletin. At least twice prior to an event is recommended. Perhaps you could use a calendar of future events in your bulletin and list it in a shortened form after the initial announcement has been made.

Reknowned Translator Speaking at
Hebron School Benefit
The Hebron School in Israel was started by the late Ada and Ida Stotlzfus, members of Conestoga Mennonite Church, who worked with MCC in this Muslim region. Today, the School is expanding to two schools in nearby Bethlehem. Sadi Othman, a student at the Hebron School, will serve as the speaker at the July 28, 2012, Hebron School Fundraiser Dinner at Conestoga Mennonite Church. Sadi is a well-respected translator today for government leaders in the Middle East (General Petraeus, President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton, and others). General Petraeus said that it was because of "Sadi's influence by the pacifist Mennonite beliefs" that he chose Sadi as his senior advisor and translator dealing with 20 countries, especially in Iran. Tickets to the July 28, 2012, Hebron School Fundraiser Dinner are available from Lois Ann Mast. Contact her at mast@masthof.com or call 484-798-8556.

Bookworm Frolic Seeking Volunteers
The Bookworm Frolic-a four-day used-book sale to benefit the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society-will be held August 15-18. We need help now to sort donated books, and we need help before, during and after the sale for a variety of jobs-packing and unpacking books, running a cash register, organizing sales tables, making or selling baked goods, parking cars, etc. These are great activities for youth groups and Sunday School classes. Please contact Justin King at (717) 393-9745 or jking@lmhs.org.
