CEU's at Kairos
Kairos offers CEU's (Continuing Education Units) to pastors and others who need to keep their credentials up to date. The instructional events, under the sponsorship of Eastern Mennonite University, include Advent Day in December and other Saturday events throughout the school year. To receive CEU's the participant must register with Kairos at least two weeks prior to the event. The minimum charge per CEU is $10. Day programs between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm normally produce 7.5 hours (minus lunch) which equal .75 CEU's. www.on-the-journey.org, kairos@on-the-journey.org, 717-669-2657.

LMS Fall Festival
Lancaster Mennonite School will hold its Fall Festival & Homecoming November 17-19, at the Lancaster Campus. The high school play, Up the Down Staircase, runs Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Friday also includes a barbecue 2:30-8 p.m. On Saturday there is also a Country Breakfast, 3 v 3 basketball tournament, Iron Bridge Run/Walk, car show 11-4, and a 5 p.m. dinner/benefit auction. Rare Book Sale
November 11 - auction of rare, out-of-print and used books from the collection of former New Holland employee Ivan Glick will be the second large personal library sold at Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society this year. Over 600 lots of rare and used books from Glick's collection will fill a special auction on November 11 and an additional 130 lots of his books will be added to a previously-scheduled sale on December 9. From literature and agriculture to Mennonite and Quaker history. Among the unusual finds is a 1700 German translation of Vitæ Patrum, an account of early Christian saints first published in 1628. Charles Dickens, Edgar Allen Poe and Mark Twain are also represented in large multi-volume sets. |
