Friday Session - Susan Beaumont Workshop

Susan Beaumont has been involved in the development of leaders and organizations for 25 + years. Prior to joining the Alban Institute, she served as Area Minister in the American Baptist Churches.

FOCUS OF WORSHOP:

What is uniquely ours to do, and how do we stay focused on it? This is the driving question behind strategic leadership in the congregation. In this six hour workshop we will explore the vision identity of the congregation, its strategic focus, the way in which strategy is formed and executed. We'll explore the challenges inherent in discerning, articulating and coordinating strategic identity, in a way that promotes sustainable mission focus. Participants will have the opportunity to do hands on work in small groups throughout the day, with other leaders from their own congregations, or with leaders in other similarly sized congregations.

Targeted Outcomes: Participants will:

  • Understand the three basic questions that form strategic identity
  • Be exposed to a variety of ways to gather data and input from the congregation during strategic planning
  • Distinguish between strategy formation and strategy execution
  • Examine the interaction of the governing board, staff team and lay leadership in maintaining strategic focus
Friday Session - Beryl Jantzi Workshop

Beryl Jantzi is the stewardship education director for Everence. He was previously a church relations manager for Everence. He has 20 + years experience as a pastor, leading four different churches in VA in PA.

FOCUS OF WORKSHOP: Ministry & Money

More is written about money and possessions in scripture than any other subject except for the kingdom of God.  Come interact with other congregational leaders on the role money plays in our personal lives and in the life of the congregation.  As congregational  leaders you will be provided with practical tools to assist you in your  individual and congregational stewardship journey.

Targeted Outcomes:

  • To receive practical resources about personal finances throughout the various seasons of life.
  • To be exposed to stewardship strategies that will help church leaders develop thriving congregations.
  • To become familiar with the wealth of FREE and PRICELESS stewardship educational resources that can be used across the generations.
