Rook Tournament
Saturday, September 24, Germantown Mennonite Meetinghouse! Including live music, barbecued chicken and ribs, and a Dutch Blitz tournament for children. The tournament begins at 11:00 am. Registration begins at 10:00 am and is $10 for a 2 person team. Rook lessons and practice sessions also begin at 10:00 am. 6133 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia. Landis Homes annual Fellowship Day
Benefit Auction and Chicken Barbecue on Saturday, September 10, rain or shine. 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz. There will be events of interest for persons of all ages beginning at 7:00 a.m. with the opening of the yard sale, auction registration and the silent auction stand. Several food stands will be opening early in the day as well as the market place, the local fresh produce stand and the fresh fruit cup stand. Numerous children's activities and attractions. WJTL's Lisa Landis will broadcast a live "Kids Cookie Break" radio show beginning at 9:00 a.m. All proceeds of the auction go to the Caring Fund part of the benevolent program at Landis Homes. "Stories from My Life"
Monday, September 19 at 7:00 pm at James St. Mennonite - 323 West James Street, LancasterPastor Miriam Book (int. pastor at Bethesda Menn. Church in Henderson, NE and Franconia Conf. Assistant Moderator) and Bishop Lawrence Chiles (Koinonia Fellowship of Churches). At the Storytelling Night, Book and Chiles will take turns recounting significant moments from their childhood, career or personal life. Each speaker has been asked to tell seven stories that are two to four minutes long. Admission is free; parking is provided.
