Pondemonium Recap

The theme of Pondemonium 2011 was "Building the Future . . . Together."  This incredible event was again a whirlwind of activity with seminars, networking, Build A Pond projects and lots of fun.  Some really exciting new products are on the way for 2012 - see below for more info.  True Pump was recognized as a 2011 recipient of Aquascape's Character Award.  "We're proud to acknowledge True Pump for demonstrating the qualities of Character, which represents integrity, honesty, and a high moral standard, including doing the right thing at all times," said Greg Wittstock, CEO and Founder of Aquascape, Inc.

Everyone who attended Pondemonium headed home with renewed enthusiasm and many new ideas for succeeding in today's  challenging economy.  You need to start making plans now to join us for this event in 2012, August 23-26!

Aquascape Video

This month's video highlights the construction of one of the water features at the entrance to the famous Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.  We were fortunate to get an up close view of this amazing feature at the opening night kickoff of Pondemonium.

Technical Corner

A primary focus of our company is educating people about the wonderful world of water gardening.  Our technical corner will answer common questions we get asked, If you have questions to submit please send them to info@truepump.com

"Is it a leak or only evaporation?"

We receive many calls from both homeowners and contractors trying to determine if their water loss is from evaporation or a leak.  Every pond is different but it is possible for a pond to lose 1/4" to 1/2" per day during the hot summer months.  Sun exposure, size and height of waterfalls along with many other factors make each water feature unique.  If you're experiencing water losses exceeding 1/2" per day you should investigate for leaks.

A great resource for answering technical questions is the Pond Builder's Bible.  For those of you who haven't purchased one yet this knowledge is now available online!  Just go to http://www.aquascapeinc.com/contractors/pond-builders-bible

Pondemonium Product Introductions

Attendees to Pondemonium were the first to hear how Aquascape has been working diligently to improve their current products and introduce some exciting new products in 2012!  AquaSurge and Ultra pumps have both been re-designed to be even more efficient AND have a lower MSRP.  The brass decorative items are being reproduced in resin at a price point that can't be beat.  The second generation of the IonGen (pictured below) will also be available next year with many added features and improvements AND at a lower price!

The new product that created the biggest buzz is the AquaSurge Pro pump pictured below.  How many projects do you have where you'd really like to "dial in" the flow?  Or maybe your customers want to be able to adjust the pump flowrate or turn it off and on from inside their house?  The new AquaSurge Pro pumps have a remote control to do just that!  4000 and 8000 GPH models will be available this coming Spring.
