In last month's newsletter I mentioned how nice it was to have seen the last of the snow. Who'd have guessed we'd have snow again on May 12? I firmly believe that after tonight we'll have seen the last of the white stuff and spring will officially begin!
Spring means it's time to spruce up your pond. We have a great variety of plants for sale (see special water lily coupon below) and have almost sold through our first shipment of fish. We do still have some nice fish left but if you'd rather wait for the "pick of the litter" they'll be available on May 26.
Also included in this month's newsletter is a link to some specially priced clearance items and links to a couple informational Aquascape videos.
Water Gardening and Vegetable Gardening Combined!
Aquaponics is a great way to combine two forms of gardening. The vegetable plants help to reduce the nutrient levels and keep the pond clear while the fish waste helps to fertilize the plants. This is a great concept in sustainable living. We are continuing to research this process and look for products which will allow this to be a relatively simple addition to your existing pond.
Our Homeowner Build A Pond Day on May 8 was a fun day of both education and hard work. Check out the photo below or stop by our store to see it in person!
The RainXchange Seminar on April 15 was a huge success. Ed Beaulieu's presentation on Rainwater Harvesting and Sustainable Landscaping was outstanding. Below is a picture of some of the crew and the completed underground 500 gallon basin.
