FALL MUSICAL

Urinetown!

There will be an information meeting about this fall's musical 'Urinetown' on September 10th at 2:45 in room 0601, the Black Box Theater.  Auditions will be the following week on Monday, September 17th, Tuesday September 18th, and Wednesday, September 19th.
Students should prepare a short song and a memorized monologue.   Rehearsals are afternoons and some evenings from late September to mid-November.
Technical set crew seeks student artists, carpenters and anyone willing to learn.

We are looking for students who are open to giving drama a try, willing to commit and have some fun.

Urinetown is an irreverently humorous satire about a town in which the water supply is controlled by a greedy corporation. Inspired by the political theater of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, Urinetown invites it's audience to think critically about social injustice and exploitation and to move towards social change. It uses the medium of theater to examine corporate control, corruption, environmental conservation and the growing divide between rich and poor. With its sense of humor and critical attitude, Urinetown draws our attention to some of the most pressing problems in contemporary society.

CRLS SCHOOL STORE OPENING SOON:
After much anticipation, The School Store located in CRLS is scheduled to open in late October.

Aptly named, The School Store will carry apparel, accessories and school supplies.  Students will be able to purchase their flash drives, paper, pens and more, while they try on the latest style of CRLS hoodies, sweatpants and tee shirts.   And, if you don't see what you want, design it yourself; customers may design their own printed image to be silk screened onto a number of different styles of athletic and casual wear.

The School Store is a lab for Mr. Rubin's Business Management and Marketing classes.  "This is an opportunity for students to practice their newly learned business skills in a  real business format," said Mr. Rubin.  Students will design the store layout, negotiate with vendors, provide strategies for pricing and risk management, and market the store  in a professional manner.  Ultimately,  a website and Facebook page will be added to the marketing mix.

The School Store is designed to service students, faculty, parents and alumni.  So, if you are in or around CRLS and need a notebook or flash drive, a custom printed hoody or special order, shop The School Store.

Sincerely,

Greta Hardina
