ANDREA HARVEY RUN/WALK
Please come out to the Andrea Harvey Run/Walk on Sunday, April 3rd at 10:30 a.m. at Fresh Pond.
Andrea Harvey (daughter of Shirley and Cedric Harvey) was a student at King Open School and CRLS. She was just 28 years old when her life was tragically cut short by domestic violence.
Andrea contributed to her community as a respected high-school Math teacher, a promising student, an accomplished musician, an artist, a gourmet vegan cook, traveler, devoted daughter, loving sister, niece, granddaughter, and kind friend. Her friends called her "Renaissance Woman," and spoke of her as one who had an open and generous heart and who tolerated nearly all personal failings in others - save prejudice.
The funds from this event will support the athletics programs at CRLS and also the Andrea Harvey Memorial Fund which gives scholarships to needy high school seniors at CRLS and East Boston High School where she worked at a Math teacher. This fund also supports domestic violence prevention programs.
You can support the fund by registering for the race (registration form attached or you could register online at: http://www.racemenu.com/event/show_detailed/7369 )
We will meet for the Run/Walk at Russell Youth Center, 680 Huron Ave at 8:45 - 10 a.m. Race begins at 10:30 AM
For more information on Andrea and the AHMF and to make an online donation, visit www.andreaharvey.org. Together we can support our youth, and keep fit together, through this shared experience. |
