Attention: Sophomores & Juniors Spend a semester in NEW YORK CITY

CITYterm will be visiting the CCRC R100 February 8, 2011 @ 10:00am

Curious about New York City? Come find out about your opportunity to spend one

semester of high school in New York! CITYterm is a semester program in New York

City where students live and learn together with 29 other students from all over the

country. At CITYterm high school juniors and seniors use the city as their primary text

to explore literature, history and the urban environment. The interdisciplinary and

experiential learning at CITYterm allows students to explore New York City and the

world around them in entirely new ways while earning credits that will easily transfer

back to Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. To date over eleven Rindge students have

participated in CITYterm.

Come learn more about CITYterm on Tuesday, February 8th @ 10am and find out how

you can be next to take advantage of this amazing opportunity.

Interested students must sign-up in advance on Naviance.

CITYterm is a semester-away program located in Dobbs Ferry, NY that brings together

adventurous juniors and seniors for sixteen weeks of intensive, experience-based learning in a

residential setting. In addition to their studies of math, language and science, Financial aid is

available. Please see www.cityterm.org for more information.

Opportunity: Help the Connect2Prevent project and earn $25

Connect2Prevent is partnering with the Cambridge Prevention Coalition and Cambridge Public Schools on a study to learn about parent-teen communication about alcohol and other drugs. We are recruiting parent-teen pairs to take a brief online survey that includes questions about how parents and teens communicate about the topic.

Keep your eyes open for an invitation in the mail!

To participate, all you and your teen (12-17 years) need to do is complete separate surveys. Surveys can be completed at home, or the Connect2Prevent team will make arrangements. Parents and teens will each receive $25 for participation.

For more information about the Connect2Prevent study, please contact Lucy Lorin at 617-401-2284 or lorin@ndri.org.
