International Social Responsibility Video
for Prudential Insurance
"Social responsibility has many faces..." and so begins the script written by Marilyn Petrokubi for TimeSteps' latest video for Prudential.
Designed for a multi-lingual, international audience, this short video, with it's sparsely written narrative, is a melting pot of images and world music, conveying the spirit of volunteering that prevails in every Prudential company around the globe.
Scenes from Global Volunteer Day, the Spirit of Community Awards, and YouthBuild initiatives show smiling faces, community projects and happy employees who have joined together to make the world a better place. The 4 minute video was cut at TimeSteps by editor David Bruce, soundtrack designed by Rob Lieberman and written and produced by Marilyn Petrokubi.

Take A Vacation...
or Else!
Did you know that about one-third of U.S. workers don't use all of their vacation days? According to a vacation study conducted by Expedia in 2009, we have a myriad of excuses for this, but the main one "I have too much to do!" seems to be the most common.
And if we do get away, many of us have become so digitally obsessed with checking in to work with smart phones and laptops, we never fully disconnect enough to reap the benefits that a real vacation provides.
Sound familiar? The literature indicates that skipped vacations and constant work can lead to burn-out which wreaks havoc on calm, clear thinking and the generation of fresh ideas. A good break allows us to renew ourselves for the creative work ahead. Just like the restorative powers of proper eating, restful sleep, and regular exercise, down-time over an extended period of a week or two, can have energizing effects as well. In fact, some say that productivity increases by as much as 60 percent in the one or two months following a vacation.[1]
So cut the technological umbilical cord. Take time off and make sure you invest yourself in the process in order to reap the rewards.
