TimeSteps
Marks its 25th Anniversary
It's hard to believe it was 25 years ago that TimeSteps was founded.
Its birth coincided with the 100th Anniversary of Johnson & Johnson, our first client. And it was their anniversary video that was our first project.
People ask where the company got its name. Some of you may remember Stanley Kubrik's movie "A Clockwork Orange" based on the 1962 novel by Anthony Burgess. Well, electronic composer Wendy Carlos scored the soundtrack to the movie, and one of the compositions was entitled "Timesteps."
We like the idea of "stepping through time" with our productions, hence the name.
Back in 1987 we were focusing on historical retrospectives because of our extensive in-house archives of historical films from 1895-1960. We would fold these images into our clients' anniversary, corporate image, and historical documentaries, thus giving us a competitive advantage that few production companies had. (Remember how expensive stock footage was in those days?)
Award-winning projects like the J&J history, the 100th Anniversary of United Hospital Medical Center, the 75th Anniversary of Exxon Research & Development, the History of Fluid Catalytic Cracking and the 50th Anniversary of Ortho McNeil among others, secured TimeSteps' position in the world of corporate and documentary video production, and the rest (as they say) is HISTORY!
