LOCAL CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT.
 STANLEY RESIDENCE GOES FOR LEED
With their thermal bypass inspection coming up this week to identify areas of missing or incorrectly installed insulation as well as find areas of gaps, builder Ivan Solbach is confident they will pass the Energy Star procedure. Using SIP (Structural Insulated Panel) construction throughout the walls and roof, the Stanleys wanted to acheive as close to a net-zero home as possible without having to install a large solar array. And with Solbach eyeing every penny of the construction process, they are very conscious of every aspect of their new green home coming in on budget while being as sustainable as they can make it. Building his fourth new green home in three years, Solabach is helping the Stanleys with other green aspects such as a 4,600 gallon rain water harvesting system, a PEX manifold plumbing system, solar thermal hot water, high-efficiency mini-split A/C system, highly reflective metal roof, concrete floors, and super high-efficiency 0.8 gallon per flush Niagra toilets from INDIGOGreen. Follow the house status yourself on their blog or check with the local USGBC Heart of Florida calander here to see the final home tour in September before they meet their move-in date the first week of November.
