10% Off Shaw Carpet Through May
Shaw out of Georgia has been an industry leader in producing a more sustainable carpet by adding recycled content and making it cradle to cradle recylclable.  Although not cradle to cradle certified, Shaw's Anything Goes Green! carpet has the potential to be cradle to cradle by turning old nylon-6 carpets into new Anso crush-resistant carpet keeping 100 million lbs of carpet out of landfills each year.
Shaw can also put quite a few warranites on their carpet because the reclyced nylon-6 has inherent crush resistant properties as well as stain resistance:
  • 10-Year Anything Goes! No Mat / No Crush Warranty - covers stairs and hallways, is transferable to a new owner, and is not prorated
  • 15-Year Soil and Stain Resistance Warranty
  • 15-Year Texture Retention Warranty
  • 15-Year Quality Assurance Warranty
  • 15-Year SoftBac Platinum Warranty
  • 15-Year Abrasive WearWarranty
  • 60-day Consumer Satisfaction Guarantee - for 60 days after installation, if you want to change your new Anything Goes! carpet for any reason, you may do so; Shaw will replace the carpet at their expense (customer is responsible for labor charges)
What's more (yesss, there's more) Shaw does not add any brominated fire retardants to their capets!  Okay, now click here for even more info including pricing...

Swallowtail Farms CSA Digs Into The Land and The Community

Recently
Noah Shitama and Zach Mclean are farmers.  Relatively new to the age-old practice of  cultivation, both Zach and Noah have taken it up with great vision and great results.  Although Community Sponsored Agriculture has been around for many years, it seems that the two have set a standard that encompasses a strong connection with organic farming, education, and strengthening the connection of not only local producers to local consumers, but local producers to each other.
Located north of Alachua on a fertile little piece of earth, they have as they put it:
crafted the farm as a model of sustainability and fine land stewardship, with a focus on appropriate scale, conservation of resources, and nature-produced fertility. No synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides or other chemicals will ever touch our fields or your food.

We at INDIGOGreen raise a radish in honor of their efforts and hope that you can support them and all the other local producers by either buying your produce locally at the many available farmers markets in our area  or visiting theirwebsite here.

Dual Flush Retrofits: Do They Really Work?

Now we get this question from time to time about dual flush retrofits for older toilets.  Do they really work?  Honestly there have been some clumsy attempts in the past to retrofit toilets so that they can flush less water.  If you have a current code-approved model that flushes 1.6 gallons, any retrofits may not be effective. However, those older toilets that flush 3-5 gallons per flush are ripe for retrofitting.  Our own tests at INDIGOGreen have proven to us that the Flush Choice can do the job and it only took a few hours to install.  Flush choice has an internal replacement parts as well as lever replacements that indicate a green dot for half flush and a red dot for full flush.  For a mere $69.95 you can have a water-saving toilet beyond the "if it's yellow let it mellow" routine.  Check out the flush choice here and the large array of water efficiencies available at INDIGOGreen here.
