This time of year is stressful, not only for you but for your dog - have you considered Canine Massage? Relaxation massages provides a sense of calm and well bring for dogs under stress, and improves your dogs general health. Besides just making your dog feel great, Canine Massage helps manage pain and soothes aching joints, increasing the range of motion. Massage helps muscle tone and increases the flow of blood and nutrients to the body. Massages are also beneficial for the following situations: Canine Athletic Massage for pre and post event massages, as well as ongoing maintenance massage to improve muscle function and performance and prevent stiffness and soreness. Good for agility, obedience or fly ball Rehabilitation Massage for post injury and post surgery massage done in consultation with your vet, usually 2-3 weeks after surgery. How do you know if your dog may benefit from a massage? Do you notice your dog having difficulties getting up? Is the dog's gait uneven? Do they not want to go for a walk, or they want to stop walking? Do you feel a knot or warm spots on the dog? Canine massage is done in your home where your dog is most comfortable and you are present during the evaluation and massage.
If there is a concern with the dog's health, a home program will be set up for you to do between massages. Fortunately, we have a local massage therapist; Diane Barrow CCM, CEMT
