We hope you have been enjoying the long hot summer and taking some time to relax with your furry friends.

We are now approaching another busy season for the K9 Klub and we hope that you will join us in some or all of our activities in the coming months.

First up is the annual Terry Fox Run (terryfox.org) on Sunday September 18th at 8am in Oak Ridges. We'd love to see a huge turnout from our dog community to support this very worthy cause as every single one of us has been affected in some way by this disease in its many forms. Funds from this event support cure-oriented, biomedical cancer research and every penny counts. You can start by registering online now and joining or sponsoring our team: Team Page  If you plan on coming please reply to this email or: info@rhk9klub.ca. Hard copy pledge forms are in the mailbox located just inside the big dog area in the dog park.

Fido Fit Walks are still in the planning stages but should be starting soon.  Stay tuned for more info!

Next up will be the 2nd anniversary of the Tower Hill Park opening and Howl-o-ween party (start planning those costumes!).  Don't be surprised to see the T.H.O.R. group in attendance continuing their quest to keep the park open! Have you sent in your signed petition yet?

After that, it's the Santa Claus Parade - but I think it's a little early to be thinking of that in this weather, so we'll leave that be for now! (maybe build a float this year??)

Rumour also has it that the man in red will be visiting Pet Valu Richmond Hill North again this year for a photo session with our fabulous four legged friends - details TBA! 

Dog park news:  over the summer a few of our board members toured potential areas for the next park and provided the Town planners with feedback. Sometime in the coming weeks, the parks department will be presenting Town Council with their findings from their research into those sites. We'll be sure to let everyone know when this will be presented.  

We are looking for additional volunteers to assist us with park maintenance from time to time.  Please drop us a line if you can help out.  Only a couple of us have attended the cleansweeps the last couple of months and we miss you!  The next is on Sunday, September 25th at 11am.
