SECOND PHASE OF ELK ROAD BUILD
| |
Build ahead of scheduleThanks to the hard work of the Okanagan College Residential Trades students and their dedicated instructor, Ken Radelet, the second duplex of the Elk Road build is proceeding ahead of schedule. Thanks also to project manager Rick Williamson and our building committee chair Brian Wrightson for helping to keep things running smoothly. We have invited our regular build volunteers to join us for interior painting but the students will remain working on the building until the third week of July, as part of their curriculum. For more picures of the students at work, visit our Facebook page. |
WE'RE ON YOUTUBE
| |
A photo montage of the first Elk Road build is now posted on YouTube.
Thanks to artist Jessica Allossery for permission to use her song, "Change the World."
Thanks to the volunteers, donors and photographers who all contributed to make home ownership a reality for two more Kelowna families.
When the second duplex is completed, Habitat for Humanity Kelowna volunteers and donors will have created affordable housing for four more families, a total of twenty people, in the space of two years. Truly, an accomplishment worth celebrating.

DAYBREAK ROTARY
| |
Generous donationThe early bird gets the worm and Habitat early risers got a $1,000 donation from West Kelowna Daybreak Rotary who held a fundraiser with partial proceeds going to HFH Kelowna's Westside build. HFH Kelowna project manager Rick Williamson and board director Elaine Ophus thank Maureen O'Hanley Doucette, incoming president of Daybreak Rotary. |
