Honouring Father on Father's Day

What to get for the Dad who has everything? How about a

donation in his honour

to HFH Kelowna?

Or if you are shopping for Dad at the Home Depot, please contribute $2.00 via their Paper Hammercampaign.

Volunteer Needs

Are you an early riser?

We need four volunteers to do a joint pancake breakfast/ fundraising event at the Westbank Lions Market on Saturday, July 23rd.  Please contact us if you'd like to help out.

No build volunteers needed this month as the Okanagan College students are building the duplex.  For pictures of the build, please visit our website or Facebook page.

HFH Kelowna is pleased to announce that we are the recipients of a $10,000 grant from the Royal Bank of Canada Foundation.  This generous donation will help us complete the second duplex of our Elk Road build.

But that's not all - the RBC Westbank branch recently hosted our two newest partner families for a seminar on budgeting, financial planning and home maintenance. Thanks to RBC for their commitment to our Habitat families!

FRIENDS OF HABITAT LUNCHEON
Friends Indeed
We recently got together for lunch with some of the people who played a

key role in getting the first duplex built on Elk Road, who work for, or own, companies that really came through for us, or have helped Habitat for Humanity faithfully over the years. Our newer donors were awarded the coveted 'Golden Hammer' plaque and our faithful veterans were thanked again -- after all, we can never say 'thank you' enough.
How appropriate , then, that we held the luncheon at the Delta Grand Okanagan. The staff and management of the Delta have been enthusiastic champions for HFH Kelowna, and the Delta Hotels across Canada have made a multi-year commitment to supporting Habitat for Humanity.

TELUS DAY OF GIVING
Telus Day of Giving Enthusiastic volunteers help landscape

We were lucky with the weather once again as a hard-working

crew from Telus came out to the Elk Road site to help spread topsoil and unroll turf around the first duplex, helping to complete the transformation from construction site to family home. This event was part of the cross-country Telus Day of Giving.

Our partner family children have already been seen running and playing on the grass under the sprinklers.

Thanks to EcoTurf Farms , formerly Clement Turf farms, for donating the turf to us.
