Families, donors, volunteers celebrate together as two more homes are completed and occupied

Earlier this month, two families welcomed Habitat volunteers and donors to their brand-new homes. This marks the end of the first phase of the Elk Road building project as the hard work of over a hundred volunteers and the generous contributions of our donors culminated in the dedication of two more Habitat homes.

Jill and Randy and their three children and Javier and Beatriz and their two children are now living in their Habitat homes. To celebrate the occasion, both families held an open house for invited guests and served delicious foods representing their cultural backgrounds.

We observed our own Habitat for Humanity traditions as well -- each family was presented with a Bible and a symbolic key.
