Happy New Year from
The Bedford School!

The Bedford Dasher 5K and Elf Run was a great success!  Over 350 5K participants and 50 Elf Runners enjoyed the beautiful weather and camaraderie. See pictures from the Dasher here.

One runner wrote, "I just wanted to write and tell you how much fun I had at today's race!!! I've done a LOT of 5ks in the area and I'll say this one was by far my favorite. The price for the race was awesome!!

Dasher 3

LOVED that there was (also) a 200m (Elf Run) dash - most have a 1 mile run and my 2 year old has just been dying to run with mommy - this was SO perfect and she had a BLAST!!!

Dasher pics

Loved all the characters dressed up - Santa, Chick fil-A cow, both Bedford Bear and 92.5 Bear! LOVED the kids craft area!!! It kept my daughter entertained while we waited for awards. Loved the chance to have our pic made with Santa - like I said this was my daughter's 1st race so now we have a cute photo to remember it!!!

I am definitely marking this one on my calendar for next year. Congrats on a great race and I can't wait to bring my running group with me next year!!!! "

Social Studies Fair

The Bedford Social Studies Fair was a huge success this year. Students from first through ninth grade completed projects on such topics ranging from family trees to the Navajo Code Talkers of WWII. Students worked at home researching and writing on the topics and presenting their hard work on a tri-fold board along with other visual aids. Finally, the students presented their work to their classmates in an oral presentation.  Way to go, Bedford Students, for a job well done.

Apogee Scholarship Update

Apogee Web Site Apogee Scholarship Update!  We are excited about the recent response to our Apogee emails!  We have over $100,000 that has been designated to Bedford through this state-sponsored program.  We appreciated the supporters who have redirected their Georgia tax dollars to support our mission. Ken Nix and Associates, electrical contractors in Fayetteville, and Fox Appliance have generously helped us through corporate redirection of taxes.  You can still help through this program.

For more information on Apogee, please visit www.apogeescholarships.org or visit our website at  www.thebedfordschool.org.
