All students participated
in the Social Studies Fair. Winners in each age group were selected
on the basis of written report, oral presentation and their displays. The Bedford School rotates Social
Studies and Science Fairs annually.

Basketball
is in full swing! 59 students
(almost half the school!) are
participating in either Lady Bears Girls Basketball, Bears A Team, Bears B Team
or Cubs Intramural Teams! The season
will continue until the first week of February, so come out and support the
Bears!

The Pumpkin Patch gave students an opportunity to show off their creativity by decorating
pumpkins!
The Fairburn Fire Department brought their Fire Safety House and educated
students in ways that they can help prevent fires and stay safe.
The Fire Department, led by Captain Bo,
instructed students as they entertained them with a puppet and clown show. This was extra special to us because
the clown (who is also a fireman), is a former Bedford student, Stephen Smith.

Grandparents' Day was held on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Over 140 Grandparents enjoyed visiting classes and eating
Thanksgiving dinner during a program about the school.

The first Bedford Dasher 5K and Elf Run was held
on December 12. Fairburn mayor
Betty Hannah served as the official starter.
The Chick fil-A cow and Santa were also on hand to encourage
the racers and celebrate the day!
Bedford parents coordinated the event and secured sponsors, advertisers
and promoted the event! Everyone's
efforts added up to a HUGE success.
The Parent Coffees at Bedford
are a good opportunity to learn more about children with learning
differences and fellowship with other parents. The next Parent Coffee is
Friday, February 5 from 8:00 A.M. until 9:30A.M. We will watch a video
about Social Skills and Learning Disabilities and then have a
discussion, led by Betsy Box. Guests are welcome to come!
