Seasons Greetings from the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society
2011 has been a great year.
The GVHS celebrated its 15 year anniversary in November. Registrations are up 40% over last year with over 2400 horses registered.

GVHS Board of Director Election
169 ballots were mailed out, and 57 ballots were cast. E.S. Evans and Company, the third party administrator has reviewed the ballots cast. The current Board of Directors has reviewed the election process and certified the election. Sue Rathbone has been elected for a 3 year term starting 1/1/2012. Rita Cardy-Susgin has been elected for a 3 year term starting 1/1/2012. Joyce Christian has been elected for a 3 year term starting 1/1/2012. Debbie Noonan has been elected for a 2 year term starting 1/1/2012. David Reidel has been elected for a 2 year term starting 1/1/2012. The above elected, along with current Directors Bill Ricci and Mike Litz, whose terms expire 12/31/12, will comprise the 7 member Board of Directors of the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society. The new board will meet in January. One of the duties of the board is to elect the Officers of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of the GVHS. Those interested in being considered for one of these positions for 2012 should submit their name to the current GVHS Secretary no later then January 8th, 2012.

There will be activities, seminars, demos and farm tours scheduled beginning Friday and through Sunday. The business meeting will be Saturday followed by awards presentation, dinner and fund raising auction. Watch for a special Vanner Banner Annual Meeting issue with more details.
The Dallas airport is only minutes away from the hotel and the ballroom.
The GVHS needs donations for their annual fund raising auction that will be held Saturday night after the meeting, awards and dinner. Contact Pam regarding donations.

Important Year End Reminders
For those members on annual memberships, its time to renew ! The membership year runs Jan 1st - Dec 31st. We offer several ways to pay your dues and fees. Use a credit or debit card in the GVHStore on the website, mail in a check, or use paypal. Membership form.
You still have time before the end of the year to nominate your 2011 foals to the futurity program. Its also time to nominate your mares that are bred to Gold Cup Stallions. Futurity nominated foals are able to show as yearlings and two year olds in the halter futurity class, and then can go on to show in the performance program.Watch the GVHS Calendar on the website. It is being updated with the 2012 shows, expos and events.

USDF All Breeds Program  Congratulations to owner and breeder, Lee Ann Kagy of Bluffton Ohio. Her mare, Simone, was the Open Training Level Award winner for the USDF All Breeds Program for the Gypsy Vanner Horse. The GVHS has been a part of this program for many years. There are now 23 Gypsy Vanner horses in the program. Kaeli, owned by Kim Osborne was the very first Gypsy Vanner mare to be recognized in the program, and Charlie, owned by El Brio Vanner was the first stallion.
