What's So Special About Email Marketing?

Part 1 of a Special 3-Part Series on Email Marketing

As you know if you own, manage, or work for any organization; whether non-profit, for-profit, association, or educational institution, marketing is critical to your operations. Marketing's job is to generate interest in your message, or story. This story is unique to each organization, and includes your history, your mission, your offerings, and what differentiates you from everybody else. When your story resonates with somebody and is relevant to them, their interest becomes a lead for your business. The point is you won't have any leads if you don't have a story to tell. Nobody can hear your story if you aren't talking. If you want someone to buy from you, join your group, enroll in your classes, help spread your mission, or simply talk about you to others, they have to know about you first. Makes sense, right? Sounds easy, right?

While email marketing is not a silver bullet, it makes sense for a large number of organizations. Email marketing allows you to tell your story- with a broader reach and more frequent touches-for less time, money, and effort than most other marketing activities...                  Email Marketing: What's Important

Redefining Your Target Market in Today's Economy-
Does it Make Sense for You?

No doubt the economy's wild ride over the last two years has affected your business in some way. This may be an understatement. However, while some industries and businesses have taken a huge hit, others seem to not be as adversely affected. I know many business owners who say "I'm not participating in the recession," and this optimistic attitude seems to guide their decisions in a positive manner. However, if you intend to stay in business and grow in the future, you must have a very clear mission and goals. A strategic marketing plan has always been important, but now is more crucial than ever, when consumer trust is low and you are fighting harder for every sale. An effective strategic marketing plan is closely aligned with your mission and clearly defines your target market, unique marketing message, and the most appropriate marketing methods to communicate with existing and prospective clients and customers.

We have all heard the advice to keep marketing even when times get tough, because that is when you need it most. It's also when your competitors are backing off, thereby giving you an even greater advantage. It makes sense to be as smart as possible when developing a marketing strategy, and that is easier to do if you revisit the basics. This article focuses on your target market, because who cares what you say if the wrong people are listening?  Click here to read entire article
