Hello Members,
I hope all of you are doing well through this rough start to winter. I know everyone has had enough of ice and snow, but take this opportunity to turn lemons into lemonade. With the bad weather outside, take advantage of time with family to do something inside. When its time to get moving don't forget to bring everyone to the Y for some fun activity and workout time. If the power is on more than likely we are open.
Our YMCA Annual Dinner is on the calendar so please save the date of Tuesday, March 23rd. Serving starts immediately at 5:30pm and the program will begin promptly at 6:30pm. This is the evening that we as a YMCA family organization get together and celebrate the accomplishments of the previous year, recognize staff and volunteers, and talk about the future. This dinner is open to all members and will be free of charge. This year we will meet at St Paul's Lutheran Church and enjoy pancakes from the Pancake Man with sausage, coffee, and drink. Again there is no charge to you but you must RSVP by March 19th to ensure we are prepared for the correct number. RSVP to the front desk at 712-243-3934 or email to mheath@nishnavalleyymca.com. We hope that you will take advantage of this time to enjoy fun and fellowship with your YMCA Family.
Just a reminder that wet and dirty shoes are about the worst thing you can use on a treadmill or elliptical. Wet and dirty shoes also make the facility floors look bad and can cause slips and falls. Please remember to bring a clean pair of shoes and change them at the bench in the front lobby. This will help our floors stay cleaner and our new equipment last longer. Thanks for your help in keeping the facility and equipment in top condition.
Volunteers needed! The Partnership With Youth Committee is looking for folks that are flip'n for the Y! If you are excited about what the YMCA has done in your life and in the lives of our community members, we are looking for you! If you would like to give back to your YMCA and your community please consider giving a few hours of volunteer work to help provide scholarships for kids and families that need a little assistance at this time. Give Michelle Saluk or Michelle Heath a call if you would like to help make a difference in the lives of children and families in our community. You can make a difference right here in Atlantic. Consider donating a few hours of your time. It will do your heart good!
Check out the new program Lori is organizing for Southwest Iowa girl's softball players to start this Spring. All girls 8th through 12th grade are eligible. What a great way to get ready for the girls high school season. If you would like more information or if you would like to coach, give Lori a call at 712-243-3934.
Attention businesses and families! The Partnership With Youth Committee is getting ready to kick off its "Banner Campaign". If you have noticed the business banners hanging around the track and you wondered how to get your name on one, just give Michelle Saluk or Michelle Heath a call at 243-3934. They would be happy to help you design a family or business banner to advertise your business or let people know your family supports the mission work of the YMCA! Get your banner up today.
Thanks so much for your continued support through your membership, volunteer time, and contributions. Your membership makes a difference in your community and we thank you for your support. Let us know how you would like to grow in Spirit, Mind, and Body and let us help you achieve your goals in 2010.
God Bless,
Dan
