Winter hints and tips - Protect your homes from the cold

The cold weather has arrived with a vengence and Britain is forecasted to be freezing cold for the next 10 days. This is the third year in a row where extreme cold has gripped the country. 

Please ensure that you have prepared your homes against the effects of such weather. A substantial increase in the number and value of escape of water claims over the past two winters is putting pressure on insurers reserves, as a consequence this will have an affect on insurance premiums.

Simple things like maintaining the heating in your home and holiday home and in the event of long spells of unoccupancy turning off the water supply and draining down the heating can reduce the risk of your pipes freezing.
