PumpkinHoliday Home Owner eNewsletter

October 2009
Greetings!

Welcome to the October edition of our eNewsletter. You will not need reminding that the Autum Half Term is almost upon us. The shops are stuffed with all things Halloween and also beginning to fill with Christmas glitz. Here in Devon the evening air is beginning to smell of just a hint of smoke as woodburners are fired up to take off the chill. Hopefully they've had their chimneys swept!

As holiday home owners you have much to think about, not least with respect to keeping your property in tip top condition for letting successfully and safely next year.

As a treat for you we have revised our Winter Maintenance Checklist for holiday home owners.

We are in the process of posting a copy to all of our policyholders and contacts, hopefully it will be a good `aide memoire' for you.

If you cannot wait for your copy it is available to download at www.boshers.co.uk/holiday-home-insurance.

Hopefully it will be of assistance to you and don't forget that all references to the CORGI Gas Register should now read GAS SAFE Register

I would also like to use this issue to bring to your attention the latest issues covered on our informative holiday home blog. It is regularly updated with information that will be of interest to holiday cottage owners and letting agents alike.

Best Wishes

Although the UK has a fairly good record of electrical safety, there are still over 30 deaths and nearly 4000 injuries from electrical accidents and the 8000 fires that occur in the home each year. Most of the accidents in the home involve faults in, or misuse of, domestic appliances, flexes plugs or connectors.
