 Peter & Margie Gardner are very excited to start
their first Life Saving patrols at Rainbow Bay SLSC
on the weekend after completing their Bronze in July.
Rainbow Bay SLSC is at forefront of lifesaving service. Our Members, each summer patrol over 2500 hours with 15 - 20 rescues and 320 preventative actions. All our active members volunteer their time to protect the life's of the general public visiting the beach. Rainbow Bay beach is the most southern Beach in Queensland, with the club established in 1993.
How To Get Involved
Rainbow Bay offers a wide range of activities and opportunities for people of all ages. Being a volunteer organisation, any work done by its volunteers is greatly appreciated and new members are always welcome at Rainbow Bay. Speakers BIO (below).
Detective Senior Constable Rod Shelton has been with the Queensland Police Service for 16 years. Prior to that he had been a teacher for 17 years and is an experienced educator. He has served in the Drug Squad, the Child Abuse Unit, the Organised Crime Unit and Property Crime Squad and has served in the Fraud Squad for 8 years as a detective and now specialises in Fraud Prevention.
Detective Shelton speaks to a large number of community groups and also at international and local professional forums on the topic of Identity Fraud and Scams. He facilitates training programs both internal and external to the QPS in fraud investigation and investigative interviewing.
 Detective Senior Constable Shelton suggests a series of measures to keep your identity safe. 1. Don't leave your identity lying around 2. Don't let what you throw away give you away 3.
