You will complete 12 blocks between January and December 2012. The registration fee for the 2012 Block of the Month program, which includes your first block and pattern, is only $20.  At the time of registration you will select the time slot for your demos: Saturday at 10:30 or 11:30 or 12:30  or Sunday at 1:00pm.  You will not pay another penny for your remaining 11 blocks (fabric and pattern) if you follow one simple rule: Come at your registered time the second weekend of each month in 2012, bring in your completed block and attend the Block of the Month demo. You will then get your next month's block FREE at the end of the demo! (If you do miss a demo or do not have your block completed, you can get the next month's block for only $5). 

    

The finishing kit can be done in reds, as in our shop sample, or blues. Both are equally gorgeous - we had a hard time deciding which colorway to make up!  Prepay for your finishing kit and backing by March 1, 2012 and save 20% off the regular price of each. Hurry, there are a limited number of kits available in each colorway (red or blue).

 

Did you participate in last year's Block of the Month program and want to learn how to complete and quilt your's all yourself?  Kristen Echols will be here Sunday, January 8th from 12-3pm to show you how it's done in her class Finish Your BOM.  Kristen has taught at the shop several times and her students have been delighted with the results!  The second part of the class will be held on Sunday, January 29th.  What a great way to start off the New Year by finishing last year's BOM!  You'll be able to repeat this technique with other quilt blocks you have created as well!  

 

If you have always wanted to learn how to do your own free motion quilting, Jenny Lyon is back Saturday, January 7th to teach her ever-popular Introduction to Fearless Free Motion Quilting.  This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from one of the best free motion instructors around who will make your experience successful and fearless! Imagine gaining the skills and confidence to be able to quilt your own quilts on your own sewing machine!

 

That same evening, Shirley Henriksen will host another Saturday Social from 4pm - 10pm.  This is a very popular and fun class that will have you sewing, chatting and dining all evening! Bring a project of your choice.

 

Do  you want to learn how to quilt?  Shirley is teaching a Beginning Quilting class starting Tuesday, Jan 10th.  She will guide you from the very beginning so that you become familiar with the tools and terms used in quilting thru making and finishing your very first sampler quilt!  The class continues over four weeks and is held in the evenings from 5:30 - 8:30pm.

  

We are so lucky to have Jan Soules coming to teach one of her newest classes Curved Piecing here at our shop.  Jan is an award-winning quilter and a superb instructor!  We have her class sample hanging in our classroom.  It is so unique!  The Thursday, January 12th class filled up fast so Jan has added a second session on Friday, January 13th to learn how to design and make your own curved piece quilt effortlessly!  

 

Jan will also be teaching the wonderful Salad Spinner quilt on Thursday, January 26th.  This is a complex looking design but remarkably simple to make.  This quilt looks great made in a variety of fabric types, from 30's to contemporary!  

 

The beautiful Wild Iris Applique wallhanging class is two sessions starting on Sunday, January 15th.  Session 2 is Jan. 22nd.  Bobbie will cover all the tips & techniques to learn how to successfully applique this beautiful design!

 

Laurel Anderson is returning January 25th and February 1st to teach her amazing Winter Amaryllis wallhanging.  This class is taught over two sessions with two different applique techniques presented to make this wonderful 'window' for your wall. Learn more about Laurel here.
