 Homemaking in the Mountains set for
October 31
Autumn seemed to come in with a chill, but the annual event, Homemaking in the Mountains, is an opportunity to stay warm while enjoying some wonderful handiwork from area residents.
Beginning at 10 am on October 31 in the Rhododendron Conference Center, visitors will see demonstrations and exhibitions of craftsmanship from area artisans. Though displays change from year to year, past exhibits have ranged from quiltmaking to candy making to homemade Christmas ornaments. Come and see the beautiful handiwork.  Still Awaiting Peak Color in Park
Views within the park are quite colorful right now. Driving throughout the park you will find bright golds and deep reds. However, the view from the overlooks is still a bit green. It's beautiful, but not yet at peak color. It won't be long, though. Take the time to plan a trip now. In only a few days, the mountainside foliage will burst with color.
