"Pure convenience!

Once the system is set up to your personal preferences, the ease of operation is unbelievable.

Keep doing what you are doing: frequent customer contact and making modifications as our needs change and grow.

Post-installation follow-up and maintenance has been excellent."

Greetings!

The beginning of football, end of baseball, raking leaves, closing the pool... a laundry list of pre-winter activities.  With or without kids in school - Autumn is a busy time of year!

In this issue, you'll find our annual road trip to the CEDIA EXPO is just around the corner.  Have something you'd like us to research for you?  Ask us!

We recently participated in an event, designed to promote 'simplifying your life'.  It couldn't have come at a better time.  Read below for tips to simplify your life from the design decoded event: 'back to home'.

CEDIA EXPO

Each year, we travel to an annual conference hosted by the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) to better our offerings and services to our clients and industry partners.  This conference promotes best practices, provides an inside view to new technologies and trends, and supports custom installers in their quest to offer their clients the very best.

This year, we plan on learning more about:
  • Energy Management Systems
  • 3DTV - Real vs. Hype
  • Network, Ethernet, and IP communications
  • Integrating the PC as an audio/video source
  • Current and future technologies
  • ... and more!

ATTENTION FACEBOOK FANS: Stay tuned for pictures and videos of this year's 2010 CEDIA EXPO!  We are bringing our inside view - directly to you.  If you haven't become a fan or 'liked' our page recently, join our online community to stay connected!

At this year's EXPO, we have a few action items on our agenda - but we also want to know: "What do YOU want to know?"  Send your question or comment to Jamie (jamie@integrationcontrols.com).  All questions will be answered directly - with a recap to follow on our Facebook page.

ATTENTION CLIENTS:  Integration Controls will be closed from 9/22 - 9/24, returning to normal operations on Monday, September 27.  While our brief absence from the office means we are technically closed, we will still be available by phone/email to address your questions and service needs.

Tips to Simplify Your Life

Our recent design decoded event: 'back to home', was a great success!  Thank you to designspeak for hosting the event, along with all of the presenters.  We had a great time!  For those who could not attend our seminar, here are a few tips from the presenters to help simplify your life:

Organization in the heart of the home: Garage, Mudroom, Kitchen
  • Empty, sort, release... When faced with a monumental task of cleaning out a 'junk' space - first empty it.  This frees up all of the usable space you have.  DO NOT buy containers first!  Instead, sort your items and release (donate, sell, recycle, trash)those you do not need or have not touched for a year (or more).
  • Give it a home... If shoes are cluttering your floor near the door, use a basket, bin, or shelving unit to keep the area organized.  If the same papers scatter your Kitchen island every week, use a table-top file system: it's pleasing to look at and you'll know exactly where those school papers are located.

Worry less, enjoy more: using technology to simplify life
  • I'm concerned about my aging parent... Aging at home is one of life's precious blessings.  With the right monitoring system in place, caregivers are assured that their loved ones took the right medicine at the right time, turned off the stove, and made it back to bed safely - all from the comfort of their own home.
  • I think my teenager is sneaking out...  Sensors and custom-programmed lights alert you if someone enters the house while you are asleep.  Great for intrusion alerts, it also works for identifying when your teenager sneaks out (and back in) for the night.

Doing right by your body: the healing effects of tea
  • High-quality loose-leaf tea really IS better... While tea bags offer convenience, they contain essentially the 'dust' that remains from loose-leaf tea which retains all of the natural properties and antioxidants of the leaf itself.
  • Tea contains a natural property that 'awakens' the brain, yet 'calms' the body.  It's natural stress-relief, in a cup!
