TESTIMONIAL
"Integrating various systems in our home has provided us with a user-friendly system, given us more control (i.e. lights, music), enabled us to preset options for specific needs, and given us the ability to get more out of the systems we have - quicker and easier than before...
Although I have worked professionally with other companies, when it came time to integrate various systems in my home, I knew Integration Controls would provide me with the best options, make sure my goals and needs were met, and work within my budget...
They were extremely conscientious and did an excellent job. My husband and I could not be more pleased with their entire service from concept to installation to system training. We are recommending them to all of our friends for home projects, and I am very happy to continue to recommend them highly to my clients for commercial projects."

iPad, iPhone, iTouch
= u-Can-Control-Anything
A colleague of ours recently mentioned a commercial he saw for the iPhone. The entire message wasn't about the phone itself. Rather, it was about the cool things the phone can do for you: bringing information and control to the user in a simple, intuitive, and fun manner. In recent months, manufacturers and third-party software developers have created apps for many of the control systems we install every day. Access and control of music, movies, lights, security, and more are now available in a way that's simple, intuitive, and fun... sound familiar?
One manufacturer, Control4, has an app available for $99 that, when added to an existing Control4 system, provides the user with the capability of controlling their music, movies, lights, etc. from an iPhone/iPad/iTouch. (Click the picture below to see a demo of the iPad app in a YouTube video we recently uploaded.)

On May 31, 2010, AMX partner TPControl, launched their app that allows an iPhone/iPad/iTouch to act as a native AMX touchpanel. At a reasonable price, AMX users now have another way to access their system without paying the high expense of a traditional touchpanel. 'Solid and reliable' is now more affordable! (Call for details)
The iPad now works as a native AMX touchpanel, bringing a robust control platform to our clients at a great price! |
Proper design, quality installation, and thorough programming are still necessary components of any entertainment or integrated system - regardless of how it is controlled. We've always made our systems simple, intuitive, and fun. Now, with the advent of apps where u-Can-Control-Anything, our job just got a little more interesting.

Efficient & Automated
Energy Management
For the everyday person...
Here's how a typical day may unfold for you:
- Wake up, get ready, have breakfast, get the kids ready (hurry!)
- It's time to GO! Run around the house, turn off the lights, lock the doors, discuss timeframe with stragglers (I said, "Get in the car!"), turn off the TV, open the garage door, set the alarm... (SHOOT! I forgot the door needs to be down to arm)
- ... shut the garage door, arm the alarm, open the garage door, rush out to leave for the day.
Press 'ALL OFF' on your way out the door and your home or office is set to your custom 'away' setting |
We've heard it before - 'there MUST be a better way'. There is. Quick and simple automated management of your home's systems means less energy spent - for you as well as wattage per hour. While we cannot control the speed with which your child gets ready in the morning, we can control how quickly everything shuts off when you leave. One 'AWAY' or 'ALL OFF' button replaces a frantic dash out of the door with one push that controls everything as you see fit. This way, you aren't wasting energy running around the house - or - wasting energy by leaving everything on until you get back.
For our clients who are interested in taking energy management one step further, it's also possible to optimize shade, lighting, or heating and cooling control to use the least amount of energy possible. Easy-to-understand 'dashboards' present information (often in pie charts or bar graphs) to show much energy is being spent - and when - so you know how to change your habits to accommodate the energy-efficient lifestyle you are trying to create. In real time, you can see how adjusting the thermostat by a few degrees and raising or lowering the shades affects your energy consumption.
Vantage Controls, among others, can display your energy consumption. |
Depending on the needs of our client, these systems can start around a few hundred dollars - to a few thousand dollars. Energy is inexpensive in Missouri, so the return-on-investment may take a while for some energy management systems. That said, there's no way to measure your energy (or lack thereof) when constantly running around your home or office to set everything just right. |
Technology changes in an instant and to remain on top of everything, we constantly train our staff, beta-test the 'latest and greatest', and attend seminars to stay with the times. Ensure your electronic systems contractor does the same and if not, give us a call.
Thank you for reading this issue of News & Review.
