Greetings!

I enjoyed watching the Olympics! Especially the sports we don't see too often like water polo, European handball, and synchronized diving. What was your favorite sport?

The athletes spend countless hours planning and preparing to perform at their highest level. How can we apply this strategy to our business goals? By taking the time to plan, you prepare yourself and your team to reach incremental goals on a regular basis. And then, with each step, your business can perform at its highest level.  Where will your business be when the Summer Olympics come around in 4 years?

We'll have more details on our "Marketing Matters" seminar series in the Fall. The series covers networking, marketing and other business topics to help you succeed. You'll find topic overviews highlighted below in the "Newsworthy" section.

At Richard Associates, we work with businesses to develop  marketing strategy, and specialize in marketing program execution to help make your business as effective and successful as it can be.

If you'd like to improve your marketing efforts, I encourage you to call or email us to find out how we can create a marketing program with you to get results.

How can you get your product to the customer? You'll find some hints in "Jumpstart Your Business" below.  There's also a list of local networking events, a networking tip, and links to articles I think you will find interesting. Enjoy!

Best regards,

Susan Richard

Place

The 4 P's of Marketing include Product, Price, Place/Distribution, and Promotion. This month we'll discuss Place. This concept concerns how to get your product to your customer. It involves logistics and distribution, as well as availability and placement of your product in the marketplace. How will your customer find it to purchase?

Logistics and Distribution

These elements involve coordinating and dispersing your product to the right wholesalers or retailers. Transportation, order processing, warehousing, inventory control, order processing, and shipping need to be taken into account. Consider the flow of taking your product from development to sale. Each step requires thought and coordination.

Availability and Placement

Ensuring that your product is available to the customer is a key factor. You'll want to choose the best retail outlet to feature your product and be most responsive to your customer. It may be your website, an online retailer like Amazon, or a boutique shop in a small town. Where you choose to sell your product depends on your target audience as well as the type of product.

You'll want to continue to monitor the process, so that you are always aware of inventory levels.

Networking Tip

Collaboration

As you are networking and building your contact base, take time to think about the services your new colleagues provide. How can you help them? How can they help you? Are you trying to reach a similar audience?

Collaboration is a great way to build relationships as well as your reputation. Team up on seminars or client projects with colleagues who are reliable, conscientious, and approachable. In this way, you are able to develop a new partnership and potential business opportunities while providing your client with the best service. Be sure to let  people know about your successes through your combined networks.

Can you think of a colleague you'd like to work with?
