 Product Development
The process of product development includes various stages of review. You already have your initial product or service that you are providing to your customers. It might be time to introduce a new version or extension of your product. How can you find out if it's the right decision?

Brainstorming
Without initial judgment, create a list of new products or services by yourself or with colleagues. Next, review your ideas and see which are truly feasible with regard to your business, branding, and financial situation. This allows you to pare down the list into the best and most practical ideas.
Market Evaluation
Once you've decided on your new product idea, review the financial aspects as well as the market potential. How much will it cost to produce, and what facilities and materials are required? Where will you find resources for supplies? Who is your target market and are they ready for this product? Is there a competitive product already on the market, and how is yours different? These are key elements to determining if you should proceed with your product development.
Development and Testing
The needs and wants of your target market will determine the design, packaging, color and other physical features of your product, so you need to know who will use your product. In this way, you can create a product that is easy-to-use, attractive and appealing to the consumer. Once you've created the actual product and packaging, you will be able to define the true costs and timing of the production process.
Bringing It to Market
Test market your product in a limited area, then expand into larger markets. This will ensure that the product performs well in an actual sales environment, and allow for refining features and production needs prior to full-scale rollout. In this final stage of planning and development, marketing strategy, production process, and sales force should be in place. |
Looking for Your Next Opportunity

Your career is in transition, or maybe you're looking for a new challenge. Networking is a great way to make connections! Research local business organizations, seminars, and trade conferences to find the best place for your networking efforts. These are opportunities to meet people and build relationships.
When you attend an event, it helps to be prepared, so have a goal in mind. How many people do you want to meet? What message or career highlight do you want to convey? Have you practiced your "elevator pitch"?
Conveying confidence when meeting new people is the first step to making great connections! And, don't forget to follow up. |
