Finding your key audience
Successful marketing relies on knowing who your audience is and the best way to reach them. In the beginning, you may think that you have a product or service that everyone needs. But do you have the budget to market to everyone? Probably not.
Instead, carefully concentrate on a select few.
When you have created a solid reputation for your business in a small sector, your foundation is set. And with each new industry, it becomes easier to convey what your company does and how you can help.

Return on investment 
Use your time wisely when networking. Meet as many people as possible to diversify your contact base. Be active in a few associations.
Every few months, review your memberships to evaluate the return on your investment of membership dues as well as your time. Ask yourself: is this organization beneficial to my business? Have I gotten clients through my involvement? Has it been worth the amount of time I've devoted to it? If the answer is "yes" then stay with it; if the answer is "no" then find a different organization to fulfill your business goals. |
